FPH Serves Dallas Area Jewish Community

Despite having “Presbyterian” in its name, Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH), is open to all people of all faiths. One area of FPH’s focus is serving the Jewish population of approximately 55,000 Dallas residents. In fact for more than three years, Elise Power, Jewish Hospice Community Liaison, has been an integral member of the FPH team concentrating on educating and connecting this group with the benefits of hospice.

Elise is well-established in the Dallas community, with the following affiliations:

In addition to these individual associations, FPH is also tightly connected to Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas (JFS) and specifically Rabbi Howard Wolk, JFS Community Chaplain, who works closely with the FPH team to provide visits and other spiritual services to Jewish patients. FPH is also an accredited member of the National Institute for Jewish Hospice (NIJH), which means the team is sensitive to the needs of Jewish patients, their families and the Jewish Calendar.

Through the efforts of Elise and the entire hospice team, approximately 3% of patients and their families currently served by FPH are Jewish. Click here, here and here to read a few of our recent posts about FPH’s involvement in the Jewish community.
