PVN and FPH Participate in JCC Events

Teammates from Presbyterian Village North (PVN) and Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH) participated in two spring events hosted by the Dallas Jewish Community Center (JCC) last week. On March 14, both entities set up booths filled with information to share with the attendees of the JCC Senior EXPO Street Fair. The Senior EXPO was designed to provide access to information of interest to senior citizens ranging from health care, fitness, entertainment, end-of-life care, and more. This event showcased 83 vendors and welcomed 517 attendees. Click here to learn more about the Expo.

It was an absolute joy getting out into our Jewish Community in Dallas to share the resources PVN and Faith provides with seniors. It was not surprising that most of the seniors who stopped by know of PVN or know someone who we have served, which is a testament to our long relationship with the Dallas community. It’s also an amazing opportunity for vendors and organizations who provide senior services to collaborate and build relationships to better provide services to those in need,” Estee Cahani, PVN Director of Rehabilitation, said.

This year’s Senior Expo exceeded everyone’s expectations! Both the sponsors and the attendees took the time to visit with each other. The event was very well attended, and it was great seeing everyone while enjoying the beautiful day. Congrats to Katherine Rubenstein, Senior Program Director and her team for a job well done!” Elise Power, FPH Jewish Hospice Community Liaison, said.

FPH was also represented at JCC’s annual Kosher Chili Cook-off on March 19. Elise Power was on hand to provide giveaways and information on FPH’s service to the community for the hundreds of people in attendance. This delectable event is known for bringing the diverse Jewish communities of Dallas and all of North Texas together for an afternoon of fun, food, fellowship and excellent kosher chili. In fact, the Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-off is the oldest and largest kosher chili cook-off event in the world! “Although it was a chilly morning, the aroma of everyone cooking their famous chili made it a very special day. The live bands were uplifting and the Jewish War Veterans made it extra special especially when they played the heartfelt Hatikvah (Israel’s National anthem). It was heartwarming when many family members shared their gratitude for FAITH HOSPICE caring for their loved ones. Thank you to the Tiferet Israel team for another fabulous Kosher Chili cook off!” Elise Power said.
