Exciting Programming Change! BJ Miller, MD to Give Keynote Address at Each Moment Matters Luncheon

We have an exciting programming change to this year’s Each Moment Matters Luncheon. Our original keynote speaker, Melissa Gilbert, is unable to join us for our event. While this change was unexpected, we are thrilled to announce American physician, author, storyteller, burn survivor and advocate for patient-centered care, BJ Miller, M.D., as our featured speaker!

Dr. Miller is one of the pre-eminent speakers on patient-centered, palliative and end-of-life care today. In addition to his incredibly popular TED Talk “What Really Matters at the End of Life”, he has appeared on Super Soul Sunday with Oprah Winfrey, Goop with Gwyneth Paltrow and his story is featured on Netflix’s 2018 short documentary, End Game.

Dr. Miller is a triple amputee survivor whose personal experience led him to pioneer a new model of patient-centered palliative care and prompted him to become an advocate for a healthcare system that maximizes quality of life while minimizing unnecessary suffering. He is the President and CEO of Mettle Health, a company he co-founded with the aim to provide personalized, holistic consultations for any patient or caregiver and serves as the Dream Foundation Honorary Medical Chair, the only national dream-granting organization for terminally-ill adults. We are excited to welcome him to the stage to share his insight on compassionate dying — and living fully until you do. We feel his message and experience in hospice and palliative care aligns perfectly with our mission of making each moment matter for those we serve. We know that Dr. Miller’s message will be incredibly empowering, and we look forward to hearing his inspirational remarks.
