The Forefront Living Foundation Receives a $1 Million Donation

The Forefront Living Foundation received a $1 million donation from Patricia (Pete) Abbott Fowler to advance spiritual care at Faith Presbyterian Hospice.

“We are grateful for this generous and thoughtful gift from Pete Abbott Fowler,” said Tena Burley, executive director of The Forefront Living Foundation. “For as long as she can remember Pete has had a heart for the dying. This gift combines her compassion for end-of-life care with her strong Faith to elevate spiritual care for patients and families of Faith Presbyterian Hospice.”

A portion of this gift will be added to the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center Endowment and provide a named position in Spiritual Care. The Jerome T. and Patricia F. Abbott Director of Spiritual Care will be an executive-level position that provides oversight and direction to chaplains and clinical staff as it relates to spiritual care. The remaining donation will be used over the next three years to enhance and develop best practices in end-of-life spiritual care with the intention of sharing those practices with other hospice providers across the country.

The $10 million T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center Endowment helps to ensure the high-quality care and pristine environment will remain in perpetuity. Donations to the endowment will benefit families for years to come. A generous donor will match every dollar, up to $5 million, given or pledged by August 31, 2021.

This gift allows the Forefront Living Foundation to hire an additional chaplain and further the partnership with Faith and Grief Ministries.
