Back to School Bash with Faith Kids Post date August 14, 2025 Faith Kids kicked off the 2025–2026 school year with a celebration! Faith Kids families attended the first-ever “Back to School Bash” to reunite with other families within the close-knit group before the new school year began. Faith Kids is a family bereavement program that provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can express themselves through art, therapeutic music, writing, dramatic and physical play in the Child Bereavement Center located on the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center (TBPHC) campus. The outdoor bash was held on Sunday, August 10, from 4-7 p.m. on the TBPHC campus. Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH) Certified Child Life Specialist, Tierney Titus, planned the event with the help of volunteers from Camp Erin DFW and teammates from Presbyterian Village North and FPH. Around 25 attendees enjoyed a variety of fun activities. Most of the outdoor events took place in shaded areas, with an inside cooling station available. Families took part in arts and crafts, made tie-dye t-shirts, went fishing and played games like cornhole and a life-size version of Connect 4. To help beat the heat, Pokey O’s Cookies and Ice Cream served up sweet treats for everyone to enjoy. The evening concluded with a heartfelt flower release on the serene campus pond as a symbol of letting go and allowing the beauty of the next chapter in life to blossom. This was a memorable moment for families to reflect and connect as they prepared to welcome the new school year. “As the 2025-26 school year kicks off, so does the Faith Kids monthly peer-support group at FPH. We launched the new school year with a special “Back to School Bash,” filling an afternoon with intentional therapeutic activities, reflection and treats! From discussing mixed emotions through tie-dye to letting go of our worries during the flower release, our goal was to provide these families and children with a fun and meaningful start to the school year,” shared Tierney.
